Welcom on our website about our holiday home on Bonaire!
CARIBBEAN.....
The Dutch version of this website
Bonaire is a smal piece of Holland in the Carribean and after Curaçao, the biggest island of the Dutch Antilles. The isle is situated in the southern part of the Carribean sea, in front of the coast of Venezuela. The capital of Bonaire is Kralendijk.
Bonaire is particulary famous for its active rol in sea life and under water life preservation. Because of this, Bonaire offers unique diving and snorkeling posibilities and facilities. Bonaire obtained a position of the top 3 of the best diving locations around the world for many years. Furthermore, the island is famous for its windsurfing and kite surfing possibilities.
Visitors of Bonaire highly esteem the perfect climate. Temperature is always around 30 degrees Celsius, both in daytime as during the night. However, because of the cooling trade-winds it stays pleasant. The temperature difference between the summer and winter is only 3 degrees Celsius. Therefore you can visit the island the whole year around.
There are many slogans and descriptions which endeavour to describe Bonaire, such as: best kept secret, unhurried, unspoiled, unforgettable and divers paradise. Bonaire has a reputation as a quiet, relaxed and stress free island. That is certainly the case. However, the island offers on the other hand a varied nightlife with nice bars and restaurants, some of which litterally on the beach.
Our house, Casa Luna, is located in a quiet middle class suburban area, called Hato, about 5 minutes by car from the centre of Kralendijk and about 2 minutes by car from the beach where you can snorkel and relax under a palmtree.
Starting from our house you can follow the so called ‘scenic road’, which brings you along the southern part of the island with the most fantastic diving locations. Painted stones along the road point out these diving spots. The only thing you have to do is to take out your diving gear and walk into the water….!
Please take a look at our website. You will find more information about the island and our house. In case you have any questions, please find our contact details at the relevant page. We look forward to welcoming you in our house!
Kind regards,
Family Cicilia-Kooijman
